“Danny Long, the soldier. I laugh when I consider all the great times we had as members of the 1st Infantry Division Band at Ft. Riley, KS. Your life-time closest friends could be found in that wonderful band. I was with Danny at rehearsals in the morning, when we played athletics in the afternoon, and when we went out at night. I spent more continuous time in one day with Danny and a couple of others than any other friend ever.

Danny made my life so complete with his personality and his fabulous musical talents. And that’s why I visited him on numerous occasions in AZ. I lost a close friend when Danny passed, but the memories will last forever. He was a true soldier of the musical world.”
